Our Story + What We Believe
Seed Planter Society (SPS) was birthed from our love and desire to make the gospel known to all humanity. Join us as we equip and empower believers to evangelize using biblical resources. We believe that our purpose is to know Jesus and to make Him known to the world. As Christ Ambassadors aka “SEED PLANTERS”, we have all been called to the ministry of reconciliation by proclaiming to the world that they can have a restored relationship with God through their faith in Jesus Christ. The gospel provides us with the assurance of knowing where we go after we die. It helps us understand that we are all sinners in need of a Savior, and that it is only by God’s grace through our faith in Jesus that saves us and reconciles us back to Him. Sin separates us from God, and prevents us from having a relationship with Him. But Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross gave us access back to the Father, and provided atonement for our sins. We believe that those who choose to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in their heart that God raised him from the dead will be saved. Calling all SEED PLANTERS! It’s time to be bold and share the gospel one seed at a time!
THE MINISTRY OF RECONSILIATION
THE MINISTRY OF RECONSILIATION
What is it?
What is it?
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Biblical Hermeneutics
Biblical Hermeneutics
Biblical hermeneutics is the study of the principles and methods of interpreting the text of the Bible. Christians should involve hermeneutics when reading and studying scripture because it helps us to know how to properly interpret, understand, and apply the Bible.
Common mistakes when studying scriptire
Common mistakes when studying scriptire
Interpreting scripture correctly is vital to giving the Lord the glory He deserves. Misinterpretation can often lead to missing out on valuable reasons to praise Him and thank Him.
PRAYER
Not praying before you begin studying.
BIG PICTURE
Filing to connect scripture to the larger overall story of scripture.
CONTEXT
Taking scripture out of context.
APPLICATION
Allowing our emotions to dictate application and interpretation.
CULTURE
Looking through the lens of our culture, opinions, politics, denomination, and/or traditions.
PRIDE
Thinking you got it all figured out and there’s nothing left to learn.
EXEGESIS
The process of explaining or interpreting scripture out of its primary meaning. Not influenced by what we “think” it means.
EISEGESIS
A misinterpretation of scripture where one inserts meaning into the text which can lead to taking scripture out of context.
NARCIGESIS
A misinterpretation of scripture where you insert yourself into the text. Deriving meaning of scripture by centering it around yourself and your experiences.
EXEGESIS
EXEGESIS
Good biblical exegesis is actually commanded in scripture. “Study [be diligent] to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). According to this verse, we must handle the Word of God properly, through diligent study. If we don’t, we have reason to be ashamed.
Of course, proper exegesis does not allow for the insertion of oneself into the text. Proper exegesis looks for the plain meaning of the passage and explains what the text is actually about. When we allow Scripture to speak for itself, with no narcissistic distortions, we see that the Bible’s main character is Christ. He is the hero of the story.
How to apply Biblical hermeneutics & exegesis when reading/studying scripture
How to apply Biblical hermeneutics & exegesis when reading/studying scripture
The Bible should be interpreted literally and in context. We are to understand the Bible in it’s normal or plain meaning, unless the passage is obviously intended to be symbolic, or if figures of speech are employed. Biblical hermeneutics keeps us faithful to the intended meaning of scripture and away from allegorizing Bible verses that should be understood literally.
Passages must be interpreted historically, grammatically, and contextually. Interpreting a passage historically means we must seek to understand the culture, background, and situation that prompted the text. Interpreting a passage contextually involves considering the context of a verse or passage when trying to determine. The context includes the verses before and after the chapter, book, and mostly the entire Bible.
Scripture is always the best interpreter of scripture because scripture always backs up scripture.
